About Peaceland
The Origin Story
Peaceland began in 2012 as a series of free-to-play Minecraft: Pocket Edition (now Bedrock Edition) maps by NickMiao0928 consisting of two creations: the Republic of Peaceland, a critically-acclaimed city map built between 2014-2018 with over 260,000 downloads worldwide and the precursor to Antares BT’s Project Peaceland, and Peaceland - Origins, our very first map built between 2012-2014 and a reminder of our humble beginnings.
At the peak of the Republic’s development in 2018, we partnered up with Antares BT to take the map to another level by making it a Marketplace project. Thus began Project Peaceland, built upon the success of the Republic edition and rebranded into its current name. This partnership also followed a wholesale reform of Peaceland’s archaic operations, namely an end to the free-to-play, ad-based revenue model, as well as the beginning of the Project Peaceland Development Team (PPDT) which continues to be led by Nick.
Over the years, Peaceland has received overwhelming support and assistance from the members of the International Association of Minecraft Architects (IAMA), which we co-founded along with the Republic of Avrin, the Federal Republic of Newland, and NXUS on 7 November 2016. In particular, we would like to thank a number of members from both the IAMA and the wider Antares BT who have made various one-off appearances in Project Peaceland in the form of builds. These include LeonIDL, Nohman12354, Astoria, Avrin, Egaland, and Lexerland.
Our Mission
To create - here at Peaceland, we strive to create an immersive experience in a bustling metropolis. You may live in a small mundane village in rural Gloucestershire, but Minecraft breaks down geographical barriers by bringing you to the heart of a never-before-seen city.
To inspire - the equality of Minecraft is central to the philosophy of Peaceland. Its accessibility allows players of all ages to have fun, and its lack of strict rules makes it a blank canvas, tabula rasa, for children and adults alike. With the same building blocks, we hope to inspire those who may doubt themselves: if we can do it, there's nothing stopping you.
The Republic Edition: 2014-2018
Comprised of three cities, over a hundred buildings and skyscrapers, an offshore amusement park, and a functioning underground metro system, the Republic of Peaceland continues to be an unparalleled community-made creation map with over 300,500 downloads worldwide since its first release in 2014.
Yet it was for those same reasons that we decided to discontinue the Republic’s development in 2018 when we partnered with Antares BT. We worried that by releasing another update under our previous free-to-play business model, we risked overlapping content with our future Marketplace edition and that, in essence, we would be pitting a very strong competition against ourselves.
Nonetheless, as Project Peaceland grew further and further away from what was in the Republic edition, those worries faded away, and we felt it was only appropriate that we finally release its final update as the Septennium Edition - not only to mark the City of Democratia’s seventh anniversary, but also as a statement: that even all of this serves as a mere glimpse of what Project Peaceland would be.

Origins: 2012-2014
Perhaps the only map in the world that is meant to be bad.
Peaceland - Origins was Nick’s first-ever map that, not only marked the beginning of the Peaceland series, but also the start of his Minecraft career.
Origins was never the most impressive nor popular creation. Nonetheless, we re-released it as the Quinquennium Edition in 2017 to mark the Peaceland series’ fifth anniversary. Apart from a new commemorative tower, we’ve left the map intact as it was in 2014.
Whether it is its architectural style or its urban planning (or the lack thereof), Origins is not dissimilar to your typical twelve-year-old’s build. But that is exactly the point. In a sense, Origins was meant to be bad, because it stands as a marker of how far we’ve progressed. Above all, it is a reminder of the equality of Minecraft rooted in the philosophy of Peaceland. A reminder that everyone starts with the same building blocks, and that, with perseverance, we are all capable of building great wonders.

Peaceland Lore: Fact File
Peaceland, officially the Republic of Peaceland, is a sovereign country situated in the Sea of Guanza consisting of two major cities, the City of Democratia and the Borough of Eleutheria. Its total area is 2.87 km², excluding outer territorial waters.
Peaceland is a unitary parliamentary republic with a unicameral legislature. It has evolved from a series of reforms and unions since its establishment in 2012, with its current structure adopted shortly after its union with Antares in 2018.
Peaceland has been a longstanding proponent of the use of Minecraft as a tool for digitally constructed art and is a founding member of the International Association of Minecraft Architects (IAMA). This is likewise reflected in its emblem - the Banner of Peace - originating from the Roerich Pact, a 1935 treaty dedicated to the protection of artistic and scientific institutions and historical monuments.
The City of Democratia is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Peaceland. Situated on an island across the Borough of Eleutheria, it has an area of 1.40 km² per the latest estimations in 2021, a six-fold expansion from the 2018 statistics. Consequently, it is divided into eight districts and nine electoral constituencies. It is governed by the Democratia City Council.
Democratia is the main commercial centre of Peaceland as well as the site of its Parliament. Situated on the Sea of Guanza, it forms part of the Guanza Region along with the neighbouring Borough of Eleutheria.
Democratia is a global city of international significance. Visited by over 300,000 tourists since records began in 2014, it was the host city for the first IAMA Summit in 2017 and houses seven embassies and consulates.
The Borough of Eleutheria is a unitary authority and borough of the region of Guanza. It is situated east of the City of Democratia, connected by the Cremello Bridge via the M1 and the Lovelace Bridge in Easton. The island has an area of 1.47 km², though a significant proportion of its landmass is taken up by the Guanza West Airport.
Eleutheria is the industrial centre of Peaceland, with four of its six districts dominated by heavy industries, logistics, and port facilities, in particular the container terminals and the airport.
Eleutheria is characterised by its sophisticated road network, namely the M1 overpass which leads to the airport, the A20 leading to Docklands, and the A201, which enters motorway regulations as A201(M) leading, once completed, out of Peaceland towards Guanza East. These are maintained by the Eleutheria Borough Council.
